“Maritime Silk Road starting point”
About Quanzhou
How we work
Every page begins with an international visitor's question, then uses sourced facts and local knowledge to answer it clearly.
Editorial principles
Not a Chinese tourism page translated into English
The subject may be local, but the questions, structure and evidence must work for someone who does not already know why Quanzhou matters.
“Deep Minnan culture”
What will I actually see, hear, taste and walk through?
“World Heritage city”
Is Quanzhou worth adding to my China trip?
“City of Gastronomy”
What does the food taste like, and what should I order first?
“Major manufacturing city”
Why is this historic port still commercially alive?
“Xiamen–Zhangzhou–Quanzhou region”
Can I visit from Xiamen, and is it worth staying overnight?
Standards
Visitor usefulness
Every page must help with a real decision: whether to go, how long to stay, what to connect, what to prepare or how to understand what is being seen.
Source hierarchy
UNESCO records, government information, institutions, transport operators and official company or hotel pages come first. Reliable media and academic work add interpretation or context. User platforms can signal live conditions but do not establish core facts alone.
Clear evidence boundaries
Official facts, editorial recommendations and field observations are kept distinct. “Best” and “must” require criteria; otherwise the page explains visitor fit instead of pretending to rank universally.
Cultural respect
Temples, mosques, rituals, performance and community traditions are not treated as scenery arranged for tourists. Pages explain conduct, context and uncertainty without using “authentic” as an empty guarantee.
Corrections and updates
Factual pages show a last-checked date and link to their principal sources. Material corrections should update both the page and the source record.
Independence
Commercial relationships do not buy editorial conclusions
Hotels, restaurants, attractions and brands may be included because they answer a visitor need. Any paid placement, hosted experience or affiliate relationship must be labelled where it appears.
