Orientation map

See the core, then see what lies beyond it.

The map below covers central Quanzhou, Qingyuan Mountain, Luoyang Bridge and part of Jinjiang. It is an orientation tool, not a complete map of the wider prefecture.

Dehua's kiln landscape and Anxi's tea and production areas sit much farther inland. Treat them as dedicated trips rather than extra stops on a downtown day.

Choose the right scale

Quanzhou is larger than the old city

Many itinerary mistakes come from treating a regional heritage system as though every site sits within one walkable centre.

Historic Downtown

Kaiyuan Temple, West Street, Zhongshan Road, Qingjing Mosque, the Confucius Temple and the south-gate heritage cluster.

Quanzhou Maritime Museum building
Short transfer

Museum + Qingyuan

Use separate road transfers for the Maritime Museum, Islamic Tombs and the Statue of Lao Tze; they are not extensions of the old-city walk.

Explore
Luoyang Bridge across its tidal estuary
Half day

Luoyang Bridge

A strong second-day addition for infrastructure, estuary landscape and the land routes that served the port.

Explore
Cao'an Temple on a wooded hillside in Jinjiang
Half day

Jinjiang + Cao'an

Cao'an, Cizao and the airport sit in the wider Jinjiang area; plan road time and do not group them by English name alone.

Explore
Wanshou Pagoda overlooking the Shishi coast
Coastal route

Shishi + the estuary

Pagodas, docks and coastal viewpoints explain navigation and shipping, but they require a deliberate route beyond the centre.

Explore
White Dehua porcelain displayed in Quanzhou
Dedicated trip

Anxi + Dehua

The inland production story is essential to understanding the port, yet distance makes each county a planned day rather than a casual add-on.

Save the Chinese name before you leave the hotel
